FAQs.

General

Can you build new connectors?

Yes, we can build custom software connectors for most platforms that expose an API. Even if a platform is not listed in our offering, there is a good chance that we’ll be able to accommodate you. Contact us for a free quote.

How can I determine if a connector will work with my systems?

Our connectors are designed to work in a variety of environments. Our team also offers feasibility testing for highly specialised and on-premise systems to determine if our solution will work for you.

What level of support do you offer?

All critical outage fixes, software upgrades and monitoring are included in your subscription. Special requests for ad-hoc custom features will be quoted separately.

How long does it take to set up a connector?

In general, our off-the-shelf connectors can be set up in as little as 24 hours. Custom or highly specialised connectors can take up to 6 weeks to set up (depending on your environment and the complexity of your desired business logic).

What happens if a connector isn't working correctly?

Our support team is on standby to address critical outages or bugs that affect your day-to-day operations. FlowConnect is hosted in a cloud environment which allows our engineers to respond rapidly and resolve any issues that may be causing your connector to work incorrectly.

Middleware

What is middleware?

Middleware is an isolated custom-coded service that sits between two remote platforms and facilitates the exchange of information between the two platforms. (e.g Hubspot and Salesforce)

Why do I need middleware?

Suppose you’re building a bespoke solution (for which no suitable off-the-shelf product exists).
The integration is possibly complex enough to stretch the limitations of HubSpot's custom-coded functions, webhooks and workflows.

These limitations could range from complete incompatibility that prohibits the direct connection of both platforms to limitations that seriously affect the reliability or maintainability of the system.

Are there any alternatives to middleware?

It might be possible to build the solution in HubSpot directly, however, as already mentioned we may discover incompatibilities during development.

Unfortunately, it’s not always possible to predict these incompatibilities and they are normally only detected after a significant amount of work has already been performed.

In these situations, we’re often forced to resort to middleware at an increased development cost to the client because of the necessity to rewrite the project from scratch.

For this reason, we generally advise clients to use middleware especially if it’s a third-party platform that we’ve never directly integrated before.

How does FlowConnect's middleware work?

After the project has been signed off, you’ll be charged standard rates for any tweaks, new features or non-critical bugs discovered. We host our middleware in a centralised environment ensuring that monitoring, software upgrades and critical server outages/bugs are addressed at no extra cost to the client.
